Jupiter is known to have four distinct sets of rings:
The Halo ring
The Main ring
The Amalthea gossamer ring
Thebe gossamer ring.
The halo ring is closest to Jupiter, with a radius of 92,000 km and a diameter of 122,500 km. The total width of the halo ring is 12,500 kilometers
The main ring is next. It begins at 122,500 km and extends to 129,000 km. It is only 6,500 kilometers wide in total.
Outside these two significant rings are the gossamer rings. Two of Jupiter's moons shepherd these faint rings. The first is Jupiter's moon Amalthea, which shepherds the Amalthea gossamer ring. It begins at a radius of 129,000 km from Jupiter and goes out to the orbit of Amalthea at 182,000 km
Thebe gossamer ring overlaps the Amalthea ring. It begins at a radius of 129,000 km and extends to 226,000 km.
