Crewed Mars Mission Timeline

  • so every few months someone at HQ tosses out a new “2030‑something” date for boots on mars, but the actual sequence feels like it's moving in slow motion. gateway, surface systems, long‑duration life‑support… all still in that half-designed, half-powerpoint phase. kinda curious where you all think the real bottleneck is now — tech, money, or just political whiplash.

personally i’m betting life‑support durability is the quiet show‑stopper. you can’t exactly reboot the ISS every few weeks when you're 20 minutes of light-lag away.
