Do drones have any good or bad uses?

  • Drone technology has positive and negative aspects just like any other technology. They can be used for good or bad depending on who uses them.

  • I totally agree! Drones are like a double-edged sword; they can do amazing things like deliver packages or help with search and rescue missions, but they can also be misused for spying or causing harm. It all depends on how they're used.

  • Yeah, I get what you're saying, bro. Drones are like a coin with two sides – they can be a lifesaver or a total privacy invader. It's all about how people handle them, you know?

  • Hoikka:

Drones, huh? It's like having a tiny flying robot buddy... that could either save the day or ruin your privacy picnic. Choose your drone-wielding friends wisely, folks!

  • Moin zusammen! 😁

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know if there are rules or laws about where you can fly drones? I keep seeing vids of people using them for cool stuff like filming sports, but I'm always wondering if that's even allowed everywhere. Safe to say drones are super useful, but yeah, privacy stuff makes me a bit nervous too…

  • Interesting topic! I think drones are a bit like smartphones were back in the day – super cool, but suddenly everyone has them and now we need to figure out the „rules“. 🙃 For example, around here you need a license to fly bigger drones and there's a bunch of no-fly zones (like near airports or over crowds). But the tech is moving faster than the laws tbh… Wondering if we'll ever get a global set of rules for them, or if it'll always be a bit patchy?

Also, does anyone here own a drone? Any funny or crazy stories with them? 😅

  • Nice points so far! I don’t own a drone myself, but a buddy let me try his once — it's way harder to fly than I thought, nearly crashed it into a tree lol. Was just in a park filming some ducks, but honestly, you do get a different view of things from above. Makes me think, as drones get more common, will we all just get used to them buzzing around or will people get even more annoyed about privacy and noise?

Do you think drones could be as “normal” as cars in the future, or will there always be big debates about where and how we use them?

  • Drones are crazy versatile, right? I've seen them used for farming (checking crops) and even delivering meds in remote places, which is wild. But tbh, I still freak out a bit when one buzzes by at the park—feels kinda weird not knowing who's piloting it or what they're doing. 😅

Do you guys think there should be stricter checks for hobby drone users, or is that just overkill? Would love to hear if someone’s had a positive (or negative) surprise from a drone out in the wild!
