How does the Tiangong space station compare to other space stations?

  • The Tiangong space station, currently under construction by China, is expected to be smaller than the International Space Station (ISS) and is designed to host a crew of three astronauts for short-term stays of up to six months. On the other hand, the ISS has been continuously inhabited by international crews since 2000 and has a much larger living and working space. The ISS is a collaborative effort between the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan, and Canada, while the Tiangong space station is being developed solely by China. Both space stations are designed to conduct scientific research in a microgravity environment and to support human spaceflight missions. However, they have different designs, capabilities, and scientific objectives.
