The European Space Agency (ESA), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the 5G-EMERGE partnership project invite stakeholders from across the satellite, telecommunications and audiovisual sectors to join the 5G-EMERGE Workshop: Satellite and 5G Integration for Media Delivery on 6 October 2026 at ESA Headquarters in Paris.
The workshop
The workshop will showcase the results achieved across the first two phases of 5G-EMERGE, including technology developments, field-testing outcomes and demonstrations illustrating how satellite, terrestrial and 5G networks can work together to support media delivery and connectivity services.
Over two project phases, 5G-EMERGE has developed and tested solutions that combine satellite, terrestrial and 5G-enabled networks into a unified system for audiovisual content distribution and connectivity services. The workshop will showcase key technical achievements, field-testing results and operational insights, while examining future opportunities for industrialisation and market adoption.
Why attend?
Meet stakeholders from across the value chain: operators, hardware and chipset manufacturers, user terminal makers, service providers, integrators, researchers and academia, spanning Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), Terrestrial Networks (TN) and the audiovisual sector.
See the technology and market maturity of 5G-EMERGE systems and services, based on results and field testing from Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Learn about the practical enablers for deploying and operating 5G-EMERGE satellite services.
Explore the opportunities to benefit from the industrialisation of 5G-EMERGE results to be addressed by the ESA activity as part of the new 5G EMERGE phase 3.
Exchange views with peers on where the technology and the market go next.
Experience demonstrations of 5G-EMERGE products and services prototypes in the foyer throughout the day.
Bringing together operators, manufacturers, service providers, researchers and institutional stakeholders, the event will provide a forum to exchange perspectives on the future of communications and media distribution infrastructures.
