ESA BIC Greece to celebrate five years at the Greek Space Tech Forum 2026
ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Greece will celebrate its 5th anniversary during the Greek Space Tech Forum 2026 (GSTF26), bringing together representatives from government, industry, academia, investors and startups to discuss the future of Greece’s space ecosystem and its contribution to Europe’s space ambitions.
Five years of supporting space entrepreneurship
A dedicated anniversary session on 7 July, “ESA BIC Greece at 5 years – Building Greece’s New Space Economy”, will bring together representatives from the Greek Government, the European Space Agency (ESA), investors and successful entrepreneurs to reflect on the programme’s achievements and discuss the next steps for strengthening Greece’s position within the European space economy.
Over the past five years, ESA BIC Greece has selected 32 startups for incubation, supporting entrepreneurs in transforming innovative ideas into commercial solutions through business support, technical expertise and access to national and European networks.
ESA’s perspective on commercialisation and growth
The event will host the ESA BIC Greece Startups parallel session on 8 July, featuring Philip Thomas, Head of the ScaleUp Division at ESA, who leads ESA’s ScaleUp activities through building and supporting commercialisation networks in ESA Member States, comprising of the ESA BICs, Technology Transfer Brokers, Phi-LabNET and Business Accelerators. His keynote will contribute to the discussion on the role of ESA’s commercialisation programmes in supporting innovative startups and strengthening Europe’s space economy.
During the session, participants will explore how incubation, investment and collaboration between public institutions, industry and entrepreneurs can accelerate the development of competitive space ventures and contribute to Europe’s long-term strategic objectives.
The ESA BIC Greece 5-year celebration at GSTF26 will provide an opportunity to showcase the programme’s achievements while reinforcing the shared commitment of ESA and its national partners to supporting the next generation of space entrepreneurs and strengthening Greece’s contribution to Europe’s space ambitions.

The Greek Space Tech Forum 2026 (GSTF26) will take place in Athens on 7–8 July 2026, bringing together key stakeholders from the Greek and European space ecosystem to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategic priorities for the future of the space economy.
GSTF26 will also feature discussions on Earth observation, satellite services, CubeSat missions, defence and dual-use technologies, artificial intelligence, climate resilience, international cooperation and investment opportunities, bringing together key stakeholders from across the Greek and European space sectors.
