The European Space Agency (ESA) has partnered with the German Aerosapce Centre (DLR) to take part in Deep Tech Momentum 2026, taking place 20–21 May at Wilhelm Studios, Berlin.
ESA will contribute to the programme through dedicated sessions highlighting both commercialisation and technology development, with the aim of increasing the attention of investors and the broader financial community towards the space sector.
On 20 May, at the Titans Stage, Dietmar Pilz, ESA Director of Technology, Engineering and Quality, will deliver the keynote “Engineering Europe’s Space Advantage: How ESA is Raising the Bar on Technology, Quality and Industrial Readiness”, addressing the role of engineering excellence and industrial capability in advancing Europe’s space ambitions.
On the same day, in the Courage Room, Gianluigi Baldesi, Head of ESA’s Ventures and Financing Office, will lead the masterclass “From Space Technologies to Market Opportunities: ESA’s Commercialisation Agenda”, presenting how ESA supports startups and scaleups in accessing funding, partnerships and market opportunities.
The event will also bring together a wide range of space innovators, including companies supported by ESA Business Incubation Centres (ESA BICs) and ESA Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS), alongside corporates and investors from across the deep tech landscape.
The collaboration reflects a joint effort to support Europe’s deep tech ecosystem by strengthening connections between industry, investors and high-potential companies, with a focus on enabling growth and scaling.
